Hartford HealthCare hospitals as well as Yale New Haven Hospital have been recognized as among the best in the country, according to the U.S. News & World Report.

“This accomplishment can only happen with a dedicated team that has a singular focus — ensuring patients have access to world-class healthcare,” said Ajay Kumar, chief clinical officer at Hartford HealthCare. “This makes a tremendous difference for everyone who trusts us with their care. Safety is at the heart of everything we do. It is our commitments that leads to innovation, process improvement and best practices that we employ across our entire system.”

Hartford HealthCare has received consistent recognition for quality and safety, with previous accolades that include a Best in the U.S. perfect three-star rating in all five cardiothoracic categories from the Society for Thoracic Surgery, and a Perfect “A” grade for safety from the Leapfrog Group for all seven of Hartford HealthCare’s hospitals.

Yale New Haven Hospital received recognition from the U.S. News & World Report as well, ranking number one in the state of Connecticut and nationally in 11 of 16 specialties.

“We are all very proud that Yale New Haven Hospital has again been recognized as one of America’s Best Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report,” said Christopher O’Connor, CEO at Yale New Haven Health. “These rankings demonstrate our steadfast commitment and ability to deliver the latest medical treatments and the highest quality of care with our partners at Yale School of Medicine to our patients and families in the state, region, and beyond.”

Yale New Haven Hospital ranked sixth in psychiatry nationally, with additional top fifty rankings in obstetrics and gynecology (19th), otolaryngology (27th), geriatrics (28th), diabetes and endocrinology (29th), and more, per a release.

“Our world-class staff can take a great deal of pride and satisfaction from this national recognition,” added Katherine Heilpern, president at Yale New Haven Hospital. “U.S. News has a rigorous methodology that looks at depth of clinical services, quality of care, and patient outcomes, and earning national rankings in eleven specialties is a direct reflection of the excellence of our teams.”
