Boreal Healthcare Foundation: Uniting Northern Health for a brighter future

In a significant step towards a brighter, healthier future for northern Saskatchewan, the Victoria Hospital Foundation proudly announces its transformation into the Boreal Healthcare Foundation. More than just a name change, this rebranding represents a renewed commitment to the communities it serves.

The Boreal Healthcare Foundation envisions a future where everyone, everywhere, has access to the healthcare they need. From the heart of northern health in Prince Albert to the most remote corners, our promise is to deliver better care, close to home, for everyone.

“The Boreal Healthcare Foundation is the result of a holistic view of healthcare in northern Saskatchewan. The healthcare system is interconnected, with the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert being the tertiary care center for the north,” says Cody Barnett, CEO of the Foundation. “To truly improve care for our northern communities, we need to address needs throughout the region and enhance care close to home for everyone.”

Every donation to the Boreal Healthcare Foundation directly serves the local community, enhancing the well-being of patients and their families within our region. The Foundation’s expansion gives every community the opportunity to build a future that speaks to its needs, and the commitment is clear: your donations stay where they are needed most; close to home.

“The Saskatchewan Health Authority is profoundly grateful for the initiative and commitment of Boreal Healthcare Foundation to provide philanthropic support of health care in Northern Saskatchewan communities,” says Andrew Will, CEO of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. “We look forward to partnering with the Boreal Healthcare Foundation to enhance health services for the patients and families we serve in northern Saskatchewan.”

Barnett adds, “Our expanded focal area and subsequent rebrand are the result of rigorous strategic planning efforts completed by the Foundation and its board of directors. Now, our purpose is clear: we’re uniting the north to drive transformative change, starting with the new Victoria Hospital. Through the state-of-the-art facilities and the enhancement of essential services, we’re not just building a hospital; we’re fortifying a healthcare system that will uplift every community in the North.”

The Victoria Hospital Redevelopment and Expansion project, and the Foundation’s forthcoming transformative campaign, will greatly heighten care in northern Saskatchewan. As the cornerstone for regional healthcare initiatives, the impact of a new Victoria Hospital will be felt far beyond Prince Albert, lighting the way for progress across the region.
